My gem this week goes to rockers Alien Ant Farm’s new track “Godlike.” I like the new song and I think is sounds similar to the songs off their last studio release Up In The Attic (2006) which is more hard rock alternative.
According to the bands Facebook page, their upcoming new album Always and Forever will be out on February 24th. It’s also been a few years since the band has recorded new material so I find it refreshing that they are making music again.
I started paying attention to Alien Ant Farm when they got big in 2001 with their awesome cover of “Smooth Criminal.” I look forward to checking out the rest of the new album later on iTunes.
Another funny thing is that on two different occasions I could have seen them play live but ended up missing out both times. The first time was more than ten years ago at a Warped Tour and unfortunately their stage and set time was simultaneous with another one of my favorite bands so I had to pass up seeing their set. The other time was this past summer the band played a free show in Detroit in celebration for the Fourth of July weekend but their show timed the same day I was going to see Beck in concert. It’s a weird bad timing thing and I’m hoping one day it will work out so I can finally see them play live.
